Been there, done it, and got the badge!
After birthday celebrations throughout the year, the date has finally arrived. 21 June 2018 – AS/400 launch – 30 years ago today!
I purchased this special souvenir badge for the archives. It is now filed away with IBM’s Expo Flyer.

Chris has been involved with AS/400 since its launch in 1988, and still producing High Availability solutions for IBM i today with Shield Advanced Solutions Ltd.
I was Communications Officer for IBM Havant Plant and represented the plant at the AS/400 launch in Birmingham in 1988.
We’ve been in it for a while now….. and plan to continue taking Shield’s IBM i solutions in new directions.
