The latest release of the now includes 15 new monitoring checks for the AIX platform.
This is a major step forward in delivering a unified monitoring solution across IBM Power Systems environments. AAG already provides proven monitoring for IBM i, Power HMC, and VIOS — and now extends that same visibility and operational control into AIX.
Deployment is fast and straightforward using the existing HMC wizard within Nagios XI. Simply select the wizard, enter the AIX connection details, choose the checks you require, adjust thresholds if needed, and complete the configuration.

Once you have selected the wizard fill in the required information for the connection to the AIX system.

Select AIX check box and press next to be presented with a list of checks.

Ensure you change the default information for any of the checks you wish to run against the AIX system before clicking Finish.
Within minutes, monitoring data is flowing directly into Nagios XI, providing centralized visibility of AIX resources, status, and operational health alongside the rest of your Power infrastructure.

The new checks help administrators quickly identify configuration issues, performance concerns, and operational problems before they impact the business. Default thresholds can easily be customized to match the requirements of each environment.
AAG continues to expand as a comprehensive monitoring platform for IBM Power Systems, helping organizations:
✔ Reduce manual monitoring effort
✔ Improve operational visibility
✔ Detect issues proactively
✔ Consolidate monitoring across multiple Power technologies
✔ Do more with fewer specialist resources
This is only the beginning for AIX support within AAG, with additional monitoring capabilities already planned based on customer demand and feedback.
