I have hands again, email came back overnight so thanks spammers I got your messages. Not that I am ever likely to buy any of your products, but its nice to know you are still thinking of me…
Today is devoted to testing my product on the IBM VLP systems, if you have not heard of the program here is a linkIBM Virtual loaner Program They kindly provide you with systems to do your development and testing on at no charge. I have started to develop a recovery process for the audit programs which will eventually allow you to fix up a file which fails on normal replication because of data errors. Today is all about testing the audit programs and then onto developing a fix for corrupted data. Our RAP/400 program is now gaining popularity and we are seeing a lot of traffic through the site checking out the product and the white paper on the technology Remote Journalling and Data Recovery which explains the original technology we developed with IBM assistance.
For those of you interested in the recent messages coming from the Vision management team about the future of the products they now own check out the latest from ITJungle.
One question I have, if the future is going to be all about hardware replication technology why buy three software solutions? I also noted with interest the mention of Glenn Van Benschoten who was let go from Lakeview sometime ago by the then owner Bill Merchantz. That was a real pity as Glenn is one of those people who doesn’t think inside the box and has a view of the future which others seem to ignore! Glenn is now working with SPSS (Show Case developers) trying to help them come up with a solid i5 strategy for that box. Good luck Glenn…
OK so enough of the chat on with the testing!
