Dont know if I feel that recharged after my short break but at least I managed to be away from phones and computers for a while. Had 200 spam emails when I got back last night which took all of 2 minutes to delete. If the odd one didn’t get mixed up in the spam emails I get I would set it up so they would all be deleted on the server! I often wonder how long the spammers will keep going? Eventually there will be so many selling the exact same rubbish that it wont be worth their while getting a list of people to send mail to. I have found that even sending out legitimate emails describing my products has little or no response. So its back to good old subscription based advertising for us. Just a question of which one to go with! If you have signed up to get the news and advertising you are more likely to read the content and possibly review the advertisements.. Pity really though, the ability to let people know about your products via a simple and very cost effective route was a big plus for the internet. Even helped reduce the high cost of magazine advertising, which I expect will grow in popularity and cost again soon? Now that has faded and people are getting fed up with the level of spam they get.
The blog seems to get a lot of attention so I hope that maybe getting it known around the i5 community will attract enough attention for us to not need to advertise the products too much? Then I am not upsetting people with unsolicited emails, yet they know the offerings we have..
