The perception is the skill pool for IBM i is reducing and will result in skills shortages in the coming years. We have a number of skilled technicians for IBM i available to offer services related to the installation and management of our products as well as help with migrations and upgrades. Our technicians hone their skills with new technologies using our in-house systems which run the earliest to latest supported releases of IBM i/OS. As our systems are micro partitioned we have developed skills in the setup an management of those partitions using the HMC and other VM technologies, all of this allows our technicians to be confident in working with these technologies.

Shield's products are packaged as IBM Licensed Program Product which means they are installed in the same manner you would install other software supplied for the IBM i by IBM. This reduces the skills required to install, configure and manage them on a daily basis to where they can be installed by any IBM i administrator with little difficulty. However, there are times when you may need assistance with the install and configuration, so we provide a number of services to help guide your staff or fully implement the products for you.
